On 19 September The Fry Group hosted the third and final event in its 2019 ‘Women & Money’ series in conjunction with Professional Women International (PWI).

Amanda Newell, Financial Planner at The Fry Group Belgium, opened the event and was joined by two guest speakers: Jessica J. J. Lutz, Impact Leadership for Women; and Agathi Pafili, Senior Regulatory Policy Advisor at the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA).

The theme of the evening, based on feedback from the launch event in May, centred on the importance of women’s net-worth and self-worth and understanding asset management, wealth management, and sustainable investing.

Jessica engrossed the audience with her powerful and inspirational talk, particularly her account of her own personal experiences. The topic of net-worth or self-worth raised many questions and helped the audience understand better why some gender gaps are so persistent.

Agathi continued by explaining what an asset is, why it is important to understand how the wealth management sector operates and why we choose certain assets to invest into.

Amanda concluded by discussing wealth management, what it actually entails and how it can be carried out while investing in a sustainable manner.

The event drew a packed audience with plenty of audience participation. We look forward to 2020 when we will continue with the next series of ‘Women & Money’ at The Fry Group offices in Brussels.
