Edward Read Cutting

Ed has worked in the Brussels office since its formation (as Fulcra) in 1996 and has been instrumental in establishing the company's profile and reputation in Belgium. A commission as an infantry officer in the Royal Regiment of Wales saw time spent in a variety of locations which terminated in Hong Kong where Ed worked as a financial adviser with Asia’s largest firm – then part of the Jardine Matheson group. An economics graduate, Ed has a keen interest in investment analysis, and also specialises in Belgian corporate pensions. Ed is a keen contributor to both the local and international Brussels community; he is a Past President of the British Chamber of Commerce in Belgium (2003-05) and remains a current member of the Council. He is also:
  • Chair of the British Chamber Training and Skills for Business Task Force
  • Council Member of the Brussels British Community Association
  • Chairman of the Brussels Branch of the Royal British Legion
  • Patron Brussels Barbarians Rugby Football Club
  • Member of the British School of Brussels Sub Finance Group

Pauline Curran


Pauline Curran

Pauline has been a director of The Fry Group Belgium Office since May 2012.  As well as looking after clients Pauline is also the local training and compliance officer. With over 25 years’ experience in advising clients, Pauline was one of the founding partners of a very successful firm of independent financial advisers in London. Having been awarded the Chartered Financial Planning Certificate by the Chartered Insurance Institute, Pauline has been delivering seminars to solicitors, accountants and financial planners on issues such as pensions, investments and inheritance tax planning. Pauline was also a founding member and former Chair of the London Branch of Women in Management and integral to the Fry Group’s Financial Planning for Women Service. Pauline sits on the Tax, Legal and Finance Tax Force of the British Chamber of Commerce in Belgium.

Katie Boag-Thomson

Katie Boag-Thomson

Katie joined The Fry Group Office Belgium in 2003 having worked in Belgium as a financial adviser for the previous 5 years advising both the expatriate and local communities. Prior to coming to Belgium, Katie worked as a compliance officer for Chase de Vere in London, one of the UK's largest financial advisory groups. Katie is a graduate and also holds a postgraduate degree MA(Hons) in accountancy.   She originally began her working life training as a chartered accountant in Scotland but was particularly drawn to the area of financial planning for both individuals and corporations. Katie (a self-confessed lover of analysis) specialises in Belgian pension analysis for the self-employed (especially but not exclusively freelance consultants) as well as relocation planning for those considering retirement in France.

Seán O'Connor

Seán O’Connor

Seán graduated in 1994 from University College Dublin with a Masters in Economics.  His career has principally been in the provision of US tax services (formerly with Deloitte and then KPMG) in Brussels and he has also worked as an (external) auditor in a research DG of the European Commission. Seán trained as an NLP practitioner in 2012.  Along with advising on pensions and insurance investment solutions, Seán is developing The Fry Group’s offering for US tax payers in the wake of the FATCA reporting regime introduced in 2010 as well as offering US individual Income Tax Return preparation services.
